Don Christianson Don Christianson served as Crystal Mountain Area Manager and Vice President from 1968-1981. He brought management acumen to the area that supported the area for many years. A construction engineer
"by experience," Don's expertise extended far beyond management of the area. As a certified cable splicer his particular skill was widely used on Crystal's lifts and other equipment needs. He also forged trails for ski runs and did whatever was needed to fulfill the area's promise as a great family ski resort. Whenever or wherever there was a problem, Don would step in and help solve it. Don
left Crystal in June of 1981 and subsequently built lifts at ski areas across the U.S. well into his retirement. He was also a minority owner of Stevens Pass for several years. Don Christianson has been inducted into the Northwest Skiers Hall of Fame and is on the Board of the Northwest Skiers Museum and Hall of Fame. |
