Jack Nagel

Jack Nagel ran the first ski school and ski shop at Crystal Mountain which began in 1962.  He tried out his first pair of skis on his birthday in 1930, and has been skiing ever since.

Jack made the Olympic Team in 1952.  He helped bring the World Cup to Crystal and forged runs to support it together with Graham Anderson and others.  He founded the Crystal Mountain Alpine Club (CMAC) and developed the largest single day ski school with 1,500 students.  This required instructors who were trained during the pre-season on Mt. Rainier.  Jack set up the first video review of ski school and ski instructors which was a concept later to be used by others.

To CMFC Hall of Fame.
"I was about to sit down and write a history of my skiing when I bunged my right hand up so I can't even scribble. It won't take long to heal. But right now I'd like to get you some info that might be of help to you."

"So you'd like me to go back for seventy-five years?  Well that was two years before I started skiing..."  Click here for Jack's amazing story
