TRANSFERS, SALE & RESALE OF TICKETS DISCUSSED & ACTED ON BY TRUSTEES

The annual meeting concluded  with a member requesting a proposed bylaw change that  would allow  member units to transfer  into a "family limited partnership" for  estate planning vs. a "natural" person.  This raised  several questions about unit transfers, acquisitions, sale of member units and resale of lift tickets.  It was determined that club legal counsel would draft appropriate language for  the bylaw change and that  it would be addressed at the next Trustee Meeting in November.

It was also determined that the board would initiate a "Frequently Asked Questions and Answers" section on the  web site (www.crystalfoundersclub.com). Members are encouraged to ask questions they may have about transfers, sales and resale of lift tickets and other club matters. Trustees will provide answers directly and post them on the web site.

Following considerable discussion at the November meeting Trustees voted NOT to amend the bylaws to accommodate "family limited partnerships" – determining that current bylaws would enable such an arrangement to take place with one "family trustee" who would serve as the administrator.   John Demco agreed to review the board's decision with the member and to begin the FAQ section to the web site.

CMAC SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED

Trustee Harry Beggs agreed to take the lead this year for a special CMFC board sponsored Crystal Mountain Alpine Club (CMAC) Scholarship program, which is new for the 2003 season.  The program was implemented in accordance with the Club's mission statement, and provided $5,000, which would be awarded to the Crystal Mountain Alpine Club for the sole purpose of applying it to tuition expenses. The program is restricted to J1 and J2 level skiers who have reached a high point in the CMAC program, demonstrated commitment and dedication, and for those who are in need of financial assistance.

The Crystal Mountain Founder's Club Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the recipients of the first annual CMFC/CMAC Scholarships. CMFC and CMAC are very enthused about this new partnership and are pleased to be able to support young racers this way.

Girls:  Kirsten Henry:   $1,000
          Julie Pierce, Hailey Habenicht and
          Erin McDermott:  $500 each
Boys:  Eric Poore:  $1,000
          Jake Gronsky, Danny Culp and
          Jacob Poore:  $500 each

If you have an opportunity, please help us congratulate this year's winners and cheer them on during their racing seasons. We would also like to acknowledge John Phillips and Lasandra Ness who served as invaluable members of the selection committee.

In November, Trustees agreed to proceed with the scholarship program for another year. Applications for next season's scholarships will be available in January, 2003. They may be obtained from CMAC coaches. Applications will be due no later than 3/31/03. Recipients will be announced by May 15, 2003.
